Systems / Infrastructure Engineer
Own deployment, observability, and operational reliability across single-node, Kubernetes, and air-gapped environments.
About the Role
voicetyped deploys in environments ranging from a single VM to air-gapped Kubernetes clusters in classified facilities. You will own the deployment story — from the CLI installer to the Helm chart to the offline bundle. Operational reliability matters more than features.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain the Helm chart for Kubernetes deployments
- Design the air-gapped installer and offline bundle tooling
- Implement Prometheus metrics, OpenTelemetry tracing, and structured logging
- Build the CLI tooling (
voice-gatewaycommand) for installation, verification, and operations - Write infrastructure-as-code for CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Own the systemd service configuration and single-node deployment experience
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes in production
- Strong Linux systems administration (systemd, networking, firewalls)
- Experience with Helm charts, container image builds, and CI/CD
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
- Experience building CLI tools (preferably in Go)
- Understanding of mTLS, certificate management, and network security
- Bonus: experience with air-gapped or classified environments
- Bonus: experience with GPU scheduling in Kubernetes (NVIDIA GPU Operator)
